Use Browseokay with Codex
How Codex uses Browseokay and the browseokay skill. Install coming soon.
1. Add the skill
Coming soon. The browseokay skill isn't public yet. Once it's released, it goes in Codex's skills folder (~/.codex/skills/, or .codex/skills/ inside a project). Install instructions will be published with the download.
2. Allow the helper command
The agent runs browser scripts through Browseokay's helper command (<browseokay-helper> nodejs), which talks to Browseokay on your machine. Run Codex with permissions that allow that command; in a restricted sandbox the call may be blocked.
3. Ask for a task
Use the browser to open my GitHub notifications and list the five newest, with links.
Codex reads the skill, creates a task space, and works in its own page while you keep using yours.
If something goes wrong
- Heredoc input doesn't arrive: some sandboxes drop heredoc input. The skill tells the agent to pass the script with
-e '…'instead. - The command isn't found: check that Browseokay's helper command is on your
PATH.
